The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge - 8th & 9th May 2026
What a challenge this is! The scenery alone makes this a cracking road trip through the heart of Wales.
Leaving the Brecon Beacons National Park, we follow the River Wye up to mid Wales with the Cambrian mountains for company before entering the knarly Snowdonia National Park.
The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge takes in Snowdon in the North, Cadair Idris in mid-Wales and Pen y Fan in the South.
It includes a total walking distance of 17 miles (27.4km) and an ascent of 2334 metres (7657ft) in less than 24-hours.
ITINERARY
Friday 8th May.
1500hrs: Depart for the Brecon Beacons.
1900hrs: Arrive and climb Pen Y Fan.
2200hrs: Depart for Snowdonia.
Saturday 9th May.
0200hrs: Arrive and climb Snowdon.
0700hrs: Depart and climb Cadair Idris.
1400hrs: Challenge complete and depart or overnight B&B.
1700hrs: Arrive at B&B in Brecon Beacons for meal, medals and drinks.
Sunday 10th May.
0900hrs: Breakfast and depart.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
Two training days (dates TBC) at a cost of £20 per person.
Driver.
Mountain Leader.
Official Three Peaks medal.
B&B in a shared room.
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED
The cost of the minibus and fuel which will be divided up between participants upon completion. Usually around £120 each.
All other drinks, meals and snacks.
NOTE:
All participants must complete both training days (Dartmoor and Brecon Beacons).
